NGO “Daugavpils University Nature Studies and Environmental Education Centre” is focused on different practical biodiversity conservation and environmental education aspects. Organisation has rich experience in practical biodiversity conservation, e.g., elaboration of protected area biodiversity conservation plans, active participation in formation of new protected areas, elaboration of species conservation plans for locally rare and endangered species, reconstruction plans for parks, and other planning documents related to the assessment of the biodiversity conservation issues.

Organization has considerable experience in Project development and management for more than 20 years.

  • Ecological network for Osmoderma eremita and other species dependent on veteran trees. LIFE Nature and Biodiversity project LIFE16 NAT/LT/000701. (2017 – 2022)
  • „Inventorisation of the biodiversity values and the elaboration of reconstruction plans for Medumi and Jaunsvente parks, according to protected landscape area „Augšzeme” conservation plan”.  Project of the Administration of Latvian Environmental Protection Fund. 2016.
  • „The elaboration of conservation plans for Nature Preserves „Rušona ezera salas” and „Lielais Pelečāres purvs”, and actualisation of conservation plan for Nature Preserve „Jašas-Bicānu ezers”. Project of the Administration of Latvian Environmental Protection Fund. 2015-2016.
  • „Elaboration of Dryomys nitedula (Forest Dormouse) species conservation plan”. Project of the Administration of Latvian Environmental Protection Fund. 2015.
